Common questions
- How do I import from Goodreads? Export your Goodreads library to CSV (Goodreads → My Books → Import and Export), then in MagicVault go to Settings → Import and pick the file. Import requires the one-time Pro unlock.
- Where is my data stored? On your iPhone, in SwiftData. Nothing leaves your device unless you turn on iCloud sync. See our Privacy Policy.
- How does iCloud sync work? Turn it on in Settings (Pro). Your library mirrors through Apple's private CloudKit database to your other devices signed into the same Apple ID. We never see the contents.
- I bought Pro on another device — how do I restore it? Settings → Restore Purchases. Pro is a one-time non-consumable tied to your Apple ID, so it restores for free on any device you own.
- The barcode scanner can't find my book. Book metadata comes from Open Library, a public catalog. If a title is missing you can add it manually — and feel free to email us the ISBN so we can flag it upstream.
- How do I delete everything? Settings → Delete everything wipes all books, logs, and notes on the device. If you used iCloud sync, also clear the dataset at iCloud.com → MagicVault.
